My great uncle was the village physician in 1960 to 1962 and maybe after that until his death.
His name was Dr. Edwin Richard Yates Hobson, and lived with his wife and two boys there in the town.
I am his great nephew and just wondered if you have any info as to when he died and where he might be interred?

His sister Edith Hobson was my paternal grandmother on my father's side.
Also his father George burned in a fire around that same time. He would have been 95 years old at the time.

Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Ernest Campbell     E-mail to this address "BOUNCED"

I am searching for any information at all for Charles Arthur Neely (I have also seen "Nealey"), who was born in Gillespie March 1, 1865. I have no parents names.

I found the name Dr. Isaac Osborn in your records who practiced medicine there from 1855 to 1867. Are there birth records available?

Could you help me with other contacts, please?

S M I T H     including  HART

I'm researching the SMITH Family. My Mom, EDNA SMITH was born in Benld 30 October, 1910.
Her parents are ROY LEE SMITH b. 15 August, 1877 in Georgia,
her mother is CLARE KATE HART b. 25 February, 1886 in St. Clair County, IL.

I have hit the "brick-wall" in finding any info on their time spent in Benld. It appears that soon after the birth of my Mom that they moved to Galveston, TX. Roy worked as a locomotive engineer in Texas and he may have been involved in the same capacity given the coal deposits in the Benld area.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Mom's birth certificate is recorded in Macoupin County as Record # 14162, File # Bk. 8-316. The Interim County Clerk at the time was Mary M. Derrick (23 January, 1976) and she says Mom was the fourth child. She knows nothing about any siblings! Stillborn or infant death???

Thanks and have a nice day,

W H I T E

I am looking for any history that you may have on my Grandfather Thomas and Katherine (Neuronis) White.
Thomas was a the son of Lithuanian immigrants.
Thomas Lived in Shenandoah, Pa. prior to Gillespie.
Thomas' family lived in Gillespie, Illinois.
Thomas' and his oldest son George were Coal miner in Gillespie mine.
My Father was Nicholas White born in Gillespie in 1915.
Thomas & Katherines children were, George, Clem, Isabele, Francis and Twins - Nicholas & Brancis.
I can only guess that Grandpa Thomas mined coal during the time period of about 1895 to 1930 or so.
Any information or where I can possibly find information on Thomas during his time in Gillespie will be greatly appreciated

Thank you,
The Grandson of Thomas White
Jim White
