Date of issue: January 29, 1896.

David Dickie from Gillespie, Macoupin County, Illinois.
A printer by trade, he stood 5' 8" tall, with brown hair, blue eyes,
and with a light complexion, was single and 21 years old, when
he served in the Union Army during the Civil War
with the 97th Infantry Regiment.

He enlisted on August 6, 1862 as a Private in Gillespie, IL.
and joined Company A on September 8, 1862 at Camp Butler, IL.
He was promoted to Full Sergeant
David mustered out on July 29, 1865 in Galveston, Texas
