Old Concord Cemetery

Old Concord Cemetery is located north of Petersburg.
Take Route 97 to Lincoln Trail Road.
Take a right and go approximately 3/4 mile.
If you come to an intersection you have went to far.
You will see two fields with a grass path/road between them on the right.
Drive up the path/road and you will see a flagpole and the cemetery.
The cemetery will not be visable from the road. It is really easy to miss,
but the cemetery and flagpole can be seen from some of
the other roads in the area.

The cemetery is located in a field about 1/4 mile off the road;
There are no signs just a lone flag on a flagpole waving in the wind.
You have to drive on a grassy road that runs in between two plowed fields.
There are approximately 200 graves there.
Most of them are very old.

My family research includes the Sampsons that lived in Menard Co., IL,
and then moved on to De Witt Co. and Logan Co., IL.

The original Gravesite of Ann Rutledge, who was Abe Lincoln's true love.
I understand they moved her body to Petersburg but erected a headstone in it's place.
Her family are buried all around it.
